Invited Lecture on Capacity Building of protection Facilitators and CFS Facilitators on Child protection, Women Empowerment and Gender-Based Violence
Project title “Protection and Humanitarian Assistance to the New Arrivals from Myanmar in Mizoram, India” under the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Team had organized a programme of Capacity Building of Protection Facilitators and CFS Facilitators on Child Protection, Women Empowerment and Gender-Based Violence at Sap Upa leh Pu Buanga Hall, BCM Hqrs. Office.
In this, Mrs Rebecca LP Lalnunhlui Asst. Prof., Department of Social Work and Miss Gracy Lalrinfeli Fanai, Guest Lecturer, Department of Social Work, HATIM gave an extended lecture to the refugees who resided in Thaizawl Refugee Camp, Hnahthial Refugee Camp and Ramthar Refugee Camp.
Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) is a global social concern that harms women, girls, men and boys and severely violates human rights. Refugees have a heightened risk of experiencing SGBV due to the protracted nature of forced displacement. What exactly is SGBV, forms, consequences, where to report the perpetrators and the protection mechanisms were make known to the refugees in this programme.
